How do I use the Application Designer to Design an Application?

After you log into the Wavity system, you will see a landing page/home page similar to one below:

Click on the icon to the right of ‘oneTEAM’ on the top left and you will see a screen similar to the one shown below

Click on the ‘App Designer’ icon and you will see a screen similar to the one shown below:

You can now begin designing your Application. You will need to enter the following mandatory fields:

Application Name (Name of your Application)

Application Description (Description that is meaningful to you and your users)

Appl Type (Type of Application – Company App that is used by all in your organization or a Team App that is used only by a certain Team)

Space (The Space/Group who will use this Application)

Optionally, you can also select tags to be associated with your Application from the ‘Select a Tag’ dropdown or add a new tag to the Application by clicking on the ‘+’ symbol to the right of the ‘Select a Tag’ box and typing in a description for the Tag in the pop-up that appears.

The Application Design palette is comprised of:

Controls Menu

Controls Panel:

Application Body:

Properties Panel:

There are three basic steps to designing an Applcation:

  1. Select a Control from the Control Menu by clicking on it. This will populate the Control Panel with options available for the control you have selected. In the screen below, the ‘Menu’ Control was chosen from the Control Menu for the Finance App that is being designed:

  1. Select the Control you want to use in the Finance App. When you click on the Control you want to use, you will see the Control populated in the Application Body Panel. In the screenshot below, the ‘Category Inline’ control was chosen:

  1. Click on the more icon (three vertical dots) to the right of the Control in the Application Body Panel and you will see the Properties Panel populated. In the example shown the ‘Category Inline’ control has only two properties:

Once you have designed your Application in the Application Body Panel using:

  1. The Control Menu
  2. The Control Panel
  3. The Properties Panel

You need to save your Application using the ‘SAVE’ button on the upper right hand corner.

After saving the Application, you will see a screen similar to the one shown below where Finance Budgeting is the new application (note that it is Inactive and will not be available for use by users till the application is activated)

If you want to make the Application available immediately, click on the ‘ACTIVATE’ button instead of the ‘SAVE” button. You will see a pop-up similar to this and clicking on the ‘ACTIVATE” button makes the Application available immediately:
